thinking about writing
I sit here thinking about writing goals. Should I sign up for the 2-year course? Should I find a local writers group? I do however, think I will join an online group "Sunday Scribblings" with a weekly writing prompt. http://sundayscribblings.blogspot.com/
What is it about the desire to write and the actual DOING the writing? There seems to be a large gap between the two, for me at least. Sadly, I THINK about writing far more than I actually write. I mean, aside from a few scratches here and there in a moleskine journal, working on a creative piece or project. The fact that I am not 'working' on anything creative, blocks me! Is that crazy? That's why I think I need some structure, whether involved in some group(s) or taking a class. It keeps the pen moving! Whatever works, right? I'm sure most writer's have their own battles with the page. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to send 'em!

sailing down the page
It's good to be back and finally caught up on rest and back in the groove of work and all. This week I came across a writing program that operates as a correspondence course with a mentor and lessons over a two-year period! The price is very fair and the guy who heads this up is reputable. I'm intrigued. I'm praying for some guidance and soul searching to see if I am really up for such a long-term commitment and can muster the discipline necessary to successfully complete this program.
My new job is going very well. I really like everyone and I'm learning more. It's a good change for sure.
I just heard on the news that some crazy man w/mental issues drove around the city running people over in the street and sidewalks on purpose today! There were 14 victims. Sad.
Before I get down on the world again, George comes over to remind me that there are good samaritans and good things happening every day. He always brightens my perspective.

sunshine, art, and goals
What amazing sunny, and warm weather we had this weekend. This is us yesterday enjoying the opening of the Chicano exhibit (Rene Yanez was guest curator) at the de Young museum. This is the best special exhibit we've seen here so far, and definitely recommend it.
The picture on the right is me at my goal weight. It's been quite a month of accomplishments. Receiving an exciting new job offer, quitting the current job, and getting my weight down. Tomorrow begins my LAST week at the current job. Waiting for 'short-timers' to set in! August is going to be an action-packed month - anniversaries, birthdays, vacation, and of course starting the new job - all good things for which I count my blessings.

a new path
Suffice to say, the waiting time was shortened by two days! Not long after yesterday's post in fact! I like to think the Lord has heard my cries (or complaints perhaps). The opportunity has presented itself as A NEW JOB OFFER that I gladly accept. Hallelujah and Amen.

waiting
I waited 30 plus years to go to Italy, what are a couple more days! Waiting times are interesting. You’ve done all you can do about a situation and the rest is out of your hands. There's a saying, "Do your best, commit the rest." And so I have! I’ve committed a particular situation to God (as have some faithful prayer warrior friends). I trust the outcome will be what’s best whether I like it or not. Honestly though, since really letting go, I’m no longer anxious about it. I have peace now and if it turns out in my favor, I think I’ll be even more pleasantly surprised.

Stern Grove
A Sunday afternoon at Stern Grove listening to the San Francisco Symphony.
This is the first time I've actually been to Stern Grove Park! It's a really nice place, with a nice mature crowd. Nearly everyone was set up with blankets, chairs, and picnics.
Some are elaborate. I saw a little fold-out table complete with a red checkered tablecloth and a tiny vase of flowers! We had some nice wine and I indulged in too many terra chips.... someone shared vodka-soaked watermelon with us. That was interesting. Anyway... you can't go wrong with a Symphony. There's something about live classical music that I find 1- magical, and 2- heavenly.

ain't no sunshine...
It's a long holiday weekend and we're waiting for some sun to come out, but it's still cold and foggy here and I don't feel very inspired. Too bad we don't have any cake.
